First a little bit of history – breakfast came into use in written English in the 15th century to describe the first meal of the morning. It literally means to break the fasting period of the prior night. Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day?
Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism, helping burn calories throughout the day. It also provides you with the energy required to accomplish daily tasks and routines and helps gain focus at work or school. Many studies have linked eating a hearty breakfast to good health, including better memory and concentration and lower chances of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight as there is less chance of overeating later in the day.
